My Mom & Dad in summer 1945 at Parris Island, SC.  Dad was a combat experienced Sergeant Drill Instructor at MCRD Parris Island and Mom was in Admin school.  You can see the quanset hut office space in the background.  They met at a party at Elliott's Beach on Parris Island.  Modern day recruits probably remember Elliott's Beach (E-Beach) as the place where they undergo the Gas Chamber training.

This is Mom playfully trying on Dad's shirt.  She was a PFC at
the time so she was probably somewhat impressed by the
sergeant stripes.

This is Mom & Dad enjoying a day in Savannah.

This is Mom & Dad at a resturant in Savanah, GA celebrating on VJ-Day!

Dad giving judo demonstration.  Judo was a skill he
learned with the Raiders - I believe that this was
during the time he was a drill instructor at Parris
Island.
